Ceramic glass – The material that can withstand high temperatures for a long time

Some define glass as non-crystalline ceramic. Usually, however, glass and ceramics are considered as two different materials – with one exception; Ceramic glass. It is a glass that is processed to contain a partially crystalline structure. Still transparent, but partly ceramic.
The advantage of ceramic glass – or glass-ceramic – is that the glass can withstand high temperatures, and it is typically used in wood-burning stoves and as sight glass in industry, which makes it possible to overlook hot processes.
We can supply the glass in 3, 4 and 5 mm thickness (thicker thicknesses can be supplied but is not stock material). We also deliver the glass as curved, but as it is a complicated process, so you should expect extra delivery time.

Typical use
Ceramic glass is typically used in connection with high temperatures, i.a. as sight glass in aluminum incinerators, for hobs and stoves. The glass can also be used to shut off UV light, as it allows only a small part of the upper UV light to penetrate. The material is therefore i.a. suitable for use in front of light sources (high temperature light sources), as it can prevent things like pictures, clothes, floors etc. in fading.
ROBAX OR NEOCERAM
Ceramic glass, also called Robax or Neoceram, has a fantastic strength against heat exposure – both in the event of a sudden thermal shock and during prolonged operation at high temperatures. The glass can withstand approx. 560 ° C for 5000 hours and 760 ° C for 5 hours.
Note that the glass has a faint yellowish tone and therefore does not appear as clear as ordinary glass.

- Shape, drilling and notch
- Edging
- Sandblasting
- Paint
- Screen printing
- It can be bend or curved, but that is a rather complicated process
Note that this type of glass cannot be thermally tempered because it is so heat resistant. It also cannot be chemically tempered.
