Thank you for a lovely 100th anniversary celebration

Jens Milbrat celebrated his 30th anniversary with the company.

Many of our partners and friends of Mirit Glas gathered at the factory in Vojens on September 1st, when we marked two major milestones for the company: our 30+70=100 anniversary. We celebrated both the 70th anniversary of Mirit Glas’ founding and Managing Director Jens Milbrat’s 30th anniversary with the company.

The special day was celebrated with, among other things, the introduction of a truly unique glass xylophone. This glass xylophone was crafted by Mirit Glas over the summer specifically for the occasion. It was created in collaboration with percussionist Kasper Grøn (recipient of the Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2023). During the celebration, Kasper performed on the glass xylophone together with vocalist Anne-Sofie Møller Olesen and bassist Rasmus Emil Hegner Nielsen.

We also took the opportunity to showcase the factory and Mirit Glas’ development to our guests. They could see for themselves how far Mirit Glas has come since 1953, when all production was carried out by hand. In the early days, Mirit Glas primarily supplied tempered glass to our customers — for example, the first Danish TV manufacturers, who protected their televisions with glass from the Mirit factory, as the company was called back then.

Although we still manually cut glass for many orders today, a large part of the production is now fully automated. The robots and CNC machines can now process glass with tolerances so precise that this would have been impossible back in the 1950s.

This means that Mirit Glas remains a flexible, order-based manufacturing company, which today is also able to produce a much wider range of glass types than in the past. The upgraded production facilities also enable us to supply both large-scale series and glass for prototypes.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and celebrated the day with us.
