Man kan slipa, sk\u00e4ra och borra i det, men de kanter som uppst\u00e5r kan inte h\u00e4rdas d\u00e4rf\u00f6r reduceras glasets styrka. Det \u00e4r \u00e4ven m\u00f6jligt att kemiskt h\u00e4rda glas som redan \u00e4r b\u00f6jt i olika former.<\/p>\n<h3>S\u00e4kerhet<\/h3>\n<p>Trots den \u00f6kade slag- och b\u00f6jh\u00e5llfastheten kan kemiskt h\u00e4rdat glas inte kvalificeras som ett s\u00e4kerhetsglas. Det finf\u00f6rdelas n\u00e4mligen inte som termiskt h\u00e4rdat glas, utan splittras som vanligt glas om det g\u00e5r s\u00f6nder. D\u00e4rf\u00f6r b\u00f6r man v\u00e4lja termiskt h\u00e4rdat glas om det \u00e4r viktigt att glaset finf\u00f6rdelas som korn vid br\u00e4ckage.
