The glass is available both as plates and as <a href=\"https:\/\/miritglas.com\/en\/products\/glass-tubes\/\">glass tubes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/miritglas.com\/en\/products\/glass-rods\/\">glass rods<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Glass made of quartz cannot be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/miritglas.com\/en\/produkt\/tempered-glass\/\">tempered<\/a>\u00a0as it has an extremely low coefficient of expansion making it resistant to high temperature differences.<\/p>\n<p>Quartz can be divided into three main types:<\/p>\n<p>Fused quartz<br \/>\nSynthetic quartz<br \/>\nFused silica satin<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fused quartz<\/strong>\u00a0is natural quartz, made from a mould containing more than 99% quartz sand that melts at a very high temperature. Fused quartz is the most widely used type of\u00a0 glass, and is therefore also called ordinary or natural quartz glass.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Synthetic quartz<\/strong>\u00a0is, as the name suggests, a \u201csynthetic\u201d glass. The glass has the same properties as the natural (fused quartz). It\u2019s just even better in several practical respects. Glass made of synthetic quartz has an unsurpassed purity and an even better transmission of light at the low end of the UV spectrum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fused silica satin<\/strong>\u00a0is also called satin quartz, because the glass is not transparent but matte. Sheets thicker than 5 mm are made to order, as these must be cut out of blocks to the desired thickness, surfaces will be matt after this cutting why it is it is subsequently necessary to polish to obtain a completely clear surface.<\/p>\n<h4>Synthetic quartz<\/h4>\n<p>Due to the price of the raw material solutions in synthetic quartz&nbsp; are made to order. Longer delivery times can be expected.
